Well you just go right on believing that and don't let those pesky facts trouble you one bit.
>I'm sorry that President Coleman making clear that she >and the U will hold to a very non-racist policy of >promoting a diverse student body...
I know that you were once an English educator and that words mean nothing to you, but I feel compelled to make my record. "Racism" means nothing if not "discrimination based on race". A policy whose only purpose is to adjust the population of students based on the color of their skin (as opposed to the "content of their character", or to the ideas in their heads, or to their academic achievement as measure in all the usual ways) is racist, ipso facto.
Mary Sue and her spiritual confreres are doing nothing more mysterious than defining a species of good, or acceptable, racism. Well, it is not acceptable to me; some of us think the only good racism is no racism. The decent people of Michigan, to their everlasting glory, clearly feel the same way.
>As for the rest of your garbage, it really is sad that >we can't just cut Detroit loose and let it and all its >annoying Negroes float over to Canada, don't you think, >Haim?
I am sorry you feel that way, but I think we should cut you, and the rest of your Klan, loose and let you float over to Canada. I am not blaming the negroes for the problems of Detroit, I am blaming you. The collapse of the Detroit public schools is as clear and compelling an example as one could want of the power of ideas. In this case, very bad ideas, and to the extent that you are emblematic of the intellectual zeitgeist that produced the Debacle in Detroit, they are your victims.
As a representative of the "Institutional Revolutionary Party of Education", this fiasco happened on your watch. Over the span of several decades, you controlled the purse strings, you set the policies, you hired and fired teachers, you chose curricula and materials. You, and nobody but you, are responsible. Be ashamed.
