I went there with Project VOTE!** in 1984 to encourage the disenfranchised to enfranchise. Of course cynicism was high, given all the corruption.
Mostly I was a back office geek in DC, with groups around the country in contact. However, Camden was close enough to engage our team directly in some field work, so we stayed close to what the front liners were doing.
