Perhaps I was unnecessarily confrontational on this thread, and I regret that. Let me try it this way.
If you want to discuss a point of math pedagogy, do it. But attacking Wayne or me or anyone else, at the same time, makes you seem insincere. Just raise the issue, present your questions and opinions, and follow through with people who respond. Not everybody is going to respond to every issue. For instance, I will tend to not respond to narrow questions of pedagogy.

We all want better teaching. But for me, narrow questions of pedagogy are tantamount to rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic and I am usually not interested. However, I have never interfered with a discussion on pedagogy, and I cannot imagine why you think my ABSENCE from such a discussion amounts to inteference, unless you value my opinions so highly that you feel a discussion is incomplete without my contribution.
Is that not it? Well, then just carry on your discussions and leave me (and Wayne) out of them.
