More ideas to consider:
Keep the list self governed and ?
Choice 5 might be that we give types (A) or (B) to our threads when we start them. Then, for example, if a member wanted to veer off from a math teaching thread to discuss a related political issue, a new thread could be created labeled as the other type and vise-versa
Example: Singapore Math - A (teaching of math discussion) Singapore Math - B (related political discussion)
Choice 6 might be that if you start a thread, you become the "Moderator" of that thread. We could define the exact role of this thread moderator.
I see this list is a "Teachers Circle" of sorts and is a lively forum with many perspectives shown. I am fine with differing opinions.
I, however, could not see that vulgar language or personal attacks were of any value, so I spoke up.
