To stress the aside, schools of Egyptology generally do not take the study of scribal mathematics seriously. For example, J. Gutenberg U. Mainz says the following:
"In Mainz, the focus on general areas of philology, literature and religion, and the Egyptian temples and the King's ideology. Zeitlich bewegen sich die derzeitigen Forschungsprojekte vor allem im 1. Timely move to the current research projects primarily in 1st Jahrtausend v. Chr. mit seinen intensiven Kulturkontakten zu Griechenland und Vorderasien. Millennium BC with its intense cultural contacts with Greece and the Near East."
That is, philology, language issues, almost always dominants written numerical issues. Hopefully schools of Egyptology will begin, one day, to alter their focal points to include serious looks at scribal mathematics.
