I also have the same puzzle, why cannot find one odd coin in (3^n-1)/2 coins with n weighings?

Here I have another problem, saying "we have two same appearance coins, knowing one is standard, one is odd but don't know it is weight or light. weigh them with two-pans, seems we can not find the odd coin forever?"
