My experience with moderated groups has been quite positive. The only negative, (if it is one) is how little traffic there is on sci.math.research.

My goal is to answer objections. Someday, there will be a vote, and I'd like it to be positive. I don't think of it as ping-pong, or as trying to convince you. I just want to respond to the negative comments (which are more than welcome.)
