Clare, hopefully you could see the answer to this without all these
equations etc. that others are suggesting (although there's nothing wrong
with doing the equations):

a) how far does Eric travel in the last (5th) hour?
(remember Dale has just arrived at destination when 5th hour starts,
so this is asking how far is Dale from Eric after 4 hours...)
b) so how far does Eric travel altogether in all 5 hours?
