Dear All,

I thank Jean-Claude Evard for this information on the ICM 2010. I wish
to share some additional information as well.

Here is an announcement about the International Congress of Women
Mathematicians (ICWM), which has taken place on August 17 and 18 of
this year. Though the ICM has always consisted of women mathematicians
and some of their work, this marks the first time that a separate conference
was being held alongside the ICM to focus on women mathematicians and their
work. The announcement can be found at the following link:

More information about the ICWM 2010 can be found at

http://www.iitk.ac.in/icwm2010.

A schedule of the conference can be found at

http://www.iitk.ac.in/icwm2010/Schedule.pdf.

From this website, one cannot tell how closely the ICWM had followed this
schedule because this website was last updated before the conference.
For instance, the website says that registration is open--which clearly
is no longer the case.

The women speakers at this conference are ones who should be attending the
ICM 2010.

I mention this information for those who support women mathematicians and
their work. I had found this link when looking for further news and updates
about the ICM 2010.

For those who cannot track down the original post, here is a link to it:
http://mathforum.org/kb/thread.jspa?threadID=2104707&tstart=15.

Math Forum contains all the posts in this discussion thread thus far,
but other websites that post sci.math messages sometimes post pieces of
threads or posts messages in disorganized, chaotic ways.
