Modified box plots

Hello, I am a member of the Texas Instruments calculator products team and I'd like to pose a question to the list about box plots for use in AP statistics. I'd like to know what your opinions are on the type of box plots a calculator should compute. As some of you may know, the TI-82 calculator currently does not show outliers (individually) that are 1.5 * inner quartile range beyond the quartiles. If there are outliers in this range, they are included in the whiskers.
The modified boxplot, as you know, separates these outliers from the whiskers so that any points lying outside 1.5 * IQR are plotted separately.
My question is this: If you could have your wish, on a calculator would you: A) implement box plots the TI-82 way ONLY B) implement modified box plots ONLY C) implement BOTH the TI-82 box plot AND the modified box plot (The user could be given the option to choose which kind to plot)
Thank you for your help, Charlotte Clark
