Dear Alain

Thank you for asking.

I tried to answer your question based on my little knowledge and hope will help to clear your question.

Practice means repeating things again and again.
Repetition is the law of the universe, as day and night, we breath again and again, we eat again and again. If some thing is repeated (practiced), it becomes easy to understand it and understanding without the practice is harder.

If you don't go by things again and again, hard for you to understand those things.

So, to understand practice is necessary.

By the way at, http://www.mathfriendly.com/documents/grade1math.html
kids practice math concepts which are explained well at the beginning of the worksheets. You can go and check my worksheets as those worksheets are not computer generated but I personally created using my math tutoring experience. Some of worksheets took one hour to complete.

Best regards
Manit Singh.
