I teach in a low income district. Our results were actually pretty good considering, but certainly not as good as others. To compare results and then make a decision about how good the teacher is , is ridiculous. One of my algebra teachers only had a 55% passing rate... lousy teacher right? Oh wait, she had a student with an IQ of 80 and a second grade reading level who PASSED. Amazing right? Judging each other is as useless as that exam was.
And BTW - My students would probably have done much better on a much harder exam, since that was what I was concentrating on. Phase shifts, forces, word problems, imaginary numbers, trig equations.....
