Thanks to both of you. A little algebra cleared it up for me.

n! - (n - 1)! = (n - 1)(n - 1)!

n! = (n - 1)(n - 1)! + (n - 1)!

n! = n(n - 1)!

Which is the definition of factorial pretty much.
