Was Guitar Hero and Rock Band effective at creating musicians?

I think the games you mention are effective for about 10 minutes. After that the kid either likes mental arithmetic or they don't like it. Do you like to play games you don't like? I understand the reasoning. Kids like games so if we made math a game then kids will like math. The fallacy is that all kids do not like all games.

But some kids will like your game and for that you should still build it. Just don't expect it to change what kids like.
