Hi, I've been grappling with translating this problem into R (the free statistical software language). Will be more than glad to acknowledge any help I can get.

I have implemented the function in a concrete form which appears to work OK; this is based on the following paper:
http://classes.engineering.wustl.edu/2009/fall/che473/handouts/OutlierRejection.pdf

but this only works for maxima N=60 and n=9. Code in attachment.
