When talking about statistic graduate degrees, I've been curious about the actuary field. There are the CAS and a SOA organizations. Does anyone have more information about the differences between the two and advice to students about how to go about getting an actuary job? I always like to talk about fields that use statistics but am pretty much in the dark about actuaries, except that I think they are highly desired and make quite a bit of money.
