What do you mean? Did he do well on geometry tests?

What do you mean? It sounds like he isn't getting any of it yet you proceed forward just the same.

Why? You mentioned self esteem. Does that mean you will then go back and redo algebra, geometry and intermediate algebra?

We need a little more explanation. It sounds like you are dealing with a terminally ill patient and looking to making his stay as calm as possible.
