You are welcome, but I fear you have misunderstood me. I don't think "multiplcation" is one or the other - replication and scaling are concepts we can form in our minds without any sort of mathematization. As a technical mathematical term its meaning depends on the mathematical context. Certainly for integer multiplication its far easier to relate it to replication than to scaling though.
