All of what you said above is irrelevant to the point being made. How? Simple. White conservatives who speak only English promote the banning of Spanish in school and in otherwise "official" contexts because they say the country should have an official language that is the main language of the majority culture. But one of these days, the US is going to become majority Hispanic and at least Spanish-speaking, the way the demographic trends are. One wonders whether these white conservatives who speak only English will be consistent and then push for everything "official" to be done only in Spanish, forcing themselves to have to learn the main language of the majority culture - you know, because according to true blue conservative principles, there ought to be an official language that is the main language of the majority culture, and everyone should be forced to learn the main language of the majority culture.
