Thanks, Carrie > > On December 19, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. ET, CCSSO will be hosting a webinar on the recently released Partnership for Readiness for College and Career (PARCC) and Smarter Balanced sample assessment items in mathematics with middle school mathematics teacher Jim Mamer. Mamer received the 2012 Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics Elementary Mathematics Teaching Award, is an active leader in the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and is currently implementing the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics with his students. Mamer will offer his reactions and guidance to fellow teachers on what the new assessment items illustrate about the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics and accompanying assessments that students will be experiencing soon. After discussing select math sample assessment items from PARCC and Smarter Balanced, Mamer will offer suggestions for teachers on how they individually and in collaborative conversations with their peers can reflect on implications for their teaching practice and for state education agency staff regarding their role in supporting educators to have these rich discussions. I'm attaching the notes from our September conference call to help refresh all our memories of things we discussed and issues we raised for future consideration. Here is a tentative draft agenda for our time in DC. > > 1) Go-around-once: Sharing recent work around the CCSSM from our organizations > > 2) Further discussion/actions on 'what it means to be CCSSM aligned', per the paper written by the three CCSSM principal authors > > 3) Further discussion/actions on scaling up PD efforts around the Practices and Content Trajectories > > 4) Future of this Coalition > > If there are any other issues that any of you would like to add to the agenda, please let me know.
