It's a nice custom, Saturnalia, but to insist that the Christmas celebration was definitively linked to Saturnalia or Sol Invictus does not float my boat. It's speculative. But scholars throw it around like it has all been pinned down. I don't think so. I remain unconvinced. Rosa, what about the other matters of the calendar, such as the determination of the year 1? Any opinions on that?
