try mex -f %MATLAB%\watcopts.bat filename %MATLAB% is the path to the bin-file like c:\matlab5\bin
that will invoke the special batchfile for the 10.6 compiler
as well you could use -v option --> mex -v -f c:\matlab5\bin\watcopts.bat filename.c
with -v you will get more information during compilation.
