May try this one:

[X,Y] = meshgrid(-10:.1:10,-10:.1:10);

Z1 = cos(X) * sin(X);
Z2 = cos(X) + cos(Y);

surf(X,Y,Z1), shading interp
figure
surf(X,Y,Z2), shading interp
