0.999... is the sum product of 3 * 0.333... and since 1/3 do not have finished decimal expansion in base 10 neither can 0.999... have it, it is just flawed deduction implemented by insufficient logic to beleive that 0.999... equals 1.
If fact the whole concept of trying to write unfinished decimal expansion as compact and finite is fault, as can be shown in any arithmetic circuit trying to interpretate the above. Change base or go for a fraction.
