The answer to why is simple, any number that can not be expressed as a sum of fractions is invalid to start with, so right from start there is no 0 nor inf to start with from this follows you can never have a number with infinite decimal expansion, because infinity is not numerical neither is 0. Infinity is just alot more of bananas then can be dreamed up, and 0 sorry there is no bananas in math.
