Although, we can be considered as 'creatures of time' and not of space ,for photons on the other hand , the story is different . I've found it interesting to consider, if you have a frame moving in constant speed in special relativity, relative to some parameter m , and you consider the motion of a particle in that frame :
the sum of the squares of its motion trough time , and its motion trough space , is equal to the motion of light in space relative to the frame . To explain , we humans experience a lot of time because we move slowly trough space . If we were to move faster trough space, we would get further , in space, but time would pass slower for us , our clocks will tick slower. At the opposite end of the spectrum , we have the photon : it moves at an incredible speed trough space, yet it doesn't ,itself, experience the passage of time (its clock has topped) . For suitable units of measurement , the sum of the squares of 'speed trough time' and 'speed trough space' would always be constant . In this sense, everything always moves at the same speed relative to some intrinsic motion of the universe . However , they have different orientations, resulting in different 'projected' speeds trough space ,and time. Suffice to say, the human wastes its 'speed' traveling trough time and barely moving in space ('time waits for no one , it passes you by' , if you move at an extremely slow speed trough space) , while the photon wastes its 'speed' traveling trough space and not moving at all trough time .
