They would if they found it useful.

Utility is the standard by which science screens mathematical theories.

Sober scientists might well make use of the theorems of ZFC, or other
axiom systems which have allowed formal proofs of the theorems of
analysis, linear algebra, , group theory, et al.

Sober scientists are not picky about which formal basis justifies the
mathematics they find useful.
