I think you underestimate yourself.

I interpret your statement in terms of being "unpracticed"
rather than "unknowledgeable" in so far as "technical knowledge"
is concerned.

Perhaps you are comparing yourself to those with
professional positions and greater academic
resources. I agree that modesty dictates prudence
with regard to that comparison. But, it is an
unfair comparison to place upon yourself. And, given
the statements sometimes made by some professionals
in these forums, knowing a lesser breadth of subject
matter well is a virtue.
