Just to clarify. The teachers that taught calculus etc, also had to teach fundamental (arithmetic) classes to the students that were struggling with school. That is what I mean by the ?other? math class. That is of course the class that the student teacher aid is assigned to watch. The calculus class, as were all higher level classes, except versions of algebra 1 and geometry, were what we now call honors classes.
