I never said divide in half a straight-line. I said pick a point halfway between two points. You changed it quite a bit when you started taking apart the line segment and keeping the point G in one set of points but not the other. Do you see why the construction you are describing (dividing a line in half as you are doing) is not logically the same as what I wrote? To be the same as what I wrote you would take half of the line segment (including the end point) and discard the other portion. And then you would do that again, and again, for ever.
