Subject: A circle-chord problem

A problemist believes that the following problem appeared in Mathematics
Magazine between 1968 and 1974, but we could not find it. It does appear
in Crux Math. in 1989. But I would very much like to discover any earlier
references.

Here it is:

Let P be any point inside a circle and draw 4 chords through P making 8
equal (45 degree) angles at P. Color the resulting 8 sectors alternately
black/white. Then the black area equals the white area.

A beautiful result!!
