I want to encourage you to consider linking with a group of professionals;

you might be interested in this if you fit any of these categories:

2. You are involved with mathematics at a two-year college;

or 3. You are involved with mathematics (lower division) at a BA/BS

The American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) holds

an annual conference in early November. You have seen many two-year college

math faculty at your NCTM conferences over the years. In general, I think

that we at two-year-colleges have seen a lot that we can learn from at NCTM

meetings.

Please consider closing this link: Come to the AMATYC conferences! (The next

conference is in Little Rock in November 1995.) You might even want to

consider submitting an application to present a session! AMATYC has strands

at the conference for a variety of mathematics:

a) Developmental -- generally thru the level of 2nd year HS algebra

b) College Algebra/Precalculus

c) Calculus

d) Statistics

e) Technical mathematics -- related to Tech Prep and others

% PRESENTATION PROPOSALS WERE DUE ON FEBRUARY 15. I had wanted to send %

% this note last month, but nctm-l was out of operation at the time. %

% %

% I would still encourage people to prepare an application to present. %

% After the "on-time" proposals are processed, the others will be %

% considered -- especially if they fill a un-met need for presentations %

% in an area. %
