Subject: matlab 2011a not installing on windows 8

Hi, 

I am using the Windows 8 64 bit evaluation. When I try to install matlab, I get the following errors. 

1) Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. Type command/ for help. 
2) C:\Users\Appdata\local\temp\tmwabe.tmp\java\jre\win64\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. error status 0x000012f.. 

Please let me know what I need to do to get matlab up and running on windows 8. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
