You grossly misstate the context of the four Olmec and Mayan long count data sets, and the astronomical cycles described on the 419 AD wall. Why throw out all long count data sets? Olmec culture dominated Central America well before the area broken up into small units, the Maya being the best known.

Mayan records like the Dresden Codex do personalize otherwise raw almanac data sets as you charge ... that you properly call divination ... but reading the raw data is the task at hand ..
