No, there really are not two sides to this story. If your work cannot be independently verified then it is not science. Oh, and "independently verified" means you do not get to choose who may verify your work and who may not.
It is a commentary on the degenerate age we live in that Stanford U, and even the US Dept of Education, had to remind certain people of this elementary principle. Guess who are the only people who need this reminder (Hint: The Education Mafia). And, judging by the gathering lynch mob under Jeremy Kilpatrick, it is not at all clear they understand.
