Position Description
Associate Professor or Professor 2014-75 January 30, 2014 Fall 2014
The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership for our doctoral program in Mathematics Education. The candidate must maintain a strong record of high-quality research, publication and scholarship in their area of specialization, collaborate in PreK-12 school-based professional development activities, pursue external funding and actively engage in both individual and collaborative grant activities. The candidate will be dedicated to the teaching and mentoring of students at the graduate and undergraduate levels and participate in the development of new courses. In addition the candidate should be actively engaged in service to the department, college, university and mathematical community.

Qualifications
Required: 1. Doctorate specializing in mathematics education or a PhD in a STEM field with a strong interest in mathematics educational research. 2. Strong preparation in Mathematics. 3. Sustained high quality research in mathematics education. 4. Proven success in obtaining external funding. 5.Evidence of effective teaching at the PK-20 level. 6. Ability to direct doctoral dissertations in Mathematics Education. 7. Ability to contribute to departmental missions, particularly one of the Centers for Excellence. 8. The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and department established standards.
Preferred:
1. Experience with mathematics outreach programs.
2. Experience working with pre-service or in-service mathematics teachers.
