Special Fellowship Opportunities for Ph.D. Program Studies in Mathematics Education at Texas A&M University
Fellowships Available:  HEEP Graduate Student Fellowships US$30,000 per year, plus tuition and benefits

Doctoral program study in mathematics education is housed in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture, College of Education and Human Development, Texas A&M University. The department has a strong program in mathematics education with outstanding faculty and students, and is a top producer of mathematics and science teachers in the state of Texas. Applicants should demonstrate outstanding academic performance, research ability/potential, communication and interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities. Successful applicants will have opportunities to work in research projects and program development in mathematics education and STEM education.

The awardees of the above HEEP fellowships will be co-supervised by Dr. Roger Howe (Eminent Scholar in Residence and Visiting Professor, member of U.S. National Academy of Sciences) and Dr. Yeping Li (Professor of Mathematics Education and Department Head). Applicants should have a strong background in mathematics and a minimum of two years of K-12 teaching experience.

Preference will be given to applicants with interests in elementary or middle school mathematics education.

The admission deadline for Fall 2014 is December 1, 2013.
