This is an update of my collection of web pages for Ph.D.
qualifying exam problems. Many of these web pages also
have solutions posted. Previous collections and the
present collection can be found at

http://mathforum.org/epigone/sci.math/howousway
http://mathforum.org/epigone/alt.math.undergrad/plulviglee

** 50 U.S. mathematics departments appear in this version.

** For completeness I searched through the web pages
of each of the 176 Group I, Group II, and Group III
mathematics departments listed in the "AMS-IMS-MAA Annual
Survey Groupings of Departments" at
http://www.ams.org/employment/groups_des.html

** I have not included web pages that only give syllabi
for these exams.

** Two or three of these web pages are "under construction"
and do not have problems posted yet.

** Outdated links in my last collection have been updated
and quite a few new departments have been added.

** Fixed width font should be used to view this collection.

I am aware that this collection is of limited use to
graduate students preparing for these exams, since they
should study the past exams given in their own department.
However, this collection can be very helpful to those making
out exams and lists of sample problems. In fact, I am
updating this collection now in order to use it in this
way. This collection can also be a useful resource for
test and homework problems for those teaching introductory
graduate level courses in algebra, analysis, topology, etc.

I am grateful to those people who sent me some of the URL's
for this update. I would appreciate additions/corrections
to this list e-mailed to me for later versions.
