Here is a reason to NOT make students take AB before BC. You make BC a class of kids that are at double advanced and take an opportunity away from kids that are only single advanced. My students take either AB or BC with only honors pre-cal as a pre-req. and my single advanced kids scores are consistently higher than my double advanced kids. That also says something for the way we "label" our double advanced kids at my school. To early and never revisited in my opinion, but I still think it is wrong to take away an opportunity from strong junior in an honors pre-cal class by not giving them a guided choice of AB or BC.
