CALL FOR PAPERS

The XIX National Congress of Mathematics, organized by the Colombian
Mathematical Society, will take place in Barranquilla, Colombia, from
July 15 - July 19, 2013.

The organizing committee of the Section on Mathematics Education,
History and Philosophy of the National Congress of Mathematics hereby
issues a call for papers contributing to the areas of Mathematics
Education, History and Philosophy of Mathematics. Of special interest
are papers on history and curriculum theories, theories of
mathematics education, extracurricular mathematical challenges and
challenging mathematics in the classroom. Also of interest are
reports of research concerning the use of technology in the teaching
and learning of mathematics, and the teaching and learning of
mathematics at specific age levels or addressing specific topics.

Those interested should submit a two- to three-page summary of their
proposal by March 31st to

invited to do so should submit the full text of their paper by April
30th. The full text proposal should be submitted following the

Research papers elaborated in the process of writing a master's or
doctoral thesis will be reviewed giving priority to theses that have
