On the happy occasion of Teacher's Day (5th November), it would be appropriate to remind all - in particular, teachers - of the wisdom of the ages about teachers and their duties. These are COMMANDMENTS from on high, not suggestions:

- -- "PUT THE EDUCATION MAFIA IN JAIL!" (Haim, who alas is no longer with us at Math-teach)

- -- "BLOW UP THE SCHOOLS OF EDUCATION!" (Professor Wayne Bishop, as revealed to him by Reid Tyler, The Famous Reading Research Expert, Himself)

- -- "Children must be taught (math; and presumably everything else) by PUSHING and GOADING!" (If unavoidable, and strictly as a last resort, they may be ENCOURAGED) (Robert Hansen)

("Still Shoveling! Not PUSHING!")
