If your students are going to be taking the state test later in the year, you will need to get them used to the format of the test (multiple choice, open ended, calculators permitted or not, etc.). My suggestion is to do this while you are teaching the Investigations units and not by stopping everything a few weeks before the exam to do test prep. Investigations now has a series of booklets called "Today's Math" that has questions in multiple choice format along with homework that goes along with specific Investigations lessons. We use it in my district and plan to do so next year.
