The Math Forum, as part of the Virtual Math Teams research project, will experiment with a new type of interactive student problem solving session this fall which might be of interest to older students involved in our Problem of the Week projects.
These SAT Chats will give students a chance to solve SAT-type problems and discuss their strategies with other students. Students will access the chats via a web page running on the Math Forum's servers, and will need to have java enabled on their computer. Our research team will study the logs of these chats in order to understand how to support effective collaboration. Students participate anonymously with their own invented usernames. The first of these chats will take place Thursday, October 21, at 8 p.m. Eastern time. See <<a href="http://mathforum.org/pow/vmt/satchat.info.html">http://mathforum.org/pow/vmt/satchat.info.html</a>> for more information.
Questions? Feel free to drop me a line or post back to the list.
