Good morning all,
Tuesday was another full day of opportunities at the Tool Fest and today will be as well. I like to check out the schedule to see the week at a glance. http://mathforum.org/workshops/toolfest05/schedule.html
* Discussions continue with Jeff's Questions of the Day. In fact, it was hard for me to get to this post because they were so interesting to read. For example, suzanneh wrote "There are many documents to fill out if I want to use any web based lesson. In addition they must be submitted at least two weeks in advance." Can you imagine, having to let your principal know two weeks in advance if you want to use the Internet?! Is that typical? Lots of good coversation developed around the issue of accessibility.
* Don Link is heading up a Top Tools List. Read more and contribute at http://mathforum.org/workshops/toolfest05/lists.html
* We had a great video conference yesterday led by Terry Coes with teachers at his school, Math Forum folks, some teachers from Sinton ISD in Texas, and Geri calling in on the phone. Read more at http://mathforum.org/workshops/toolfest05/videoconference.html We plan to get a discussion page going to continue and enlarge that good conversation.
Wednesday's Focus: Ok, let's talk about TODAY.
** Read about "Reviewing Resources in Math Tools with Craig Russell" http://mathforum.org/workshops/toolfest05/reviewing.html then head out and review some of those favorite tools.
** Bill Finzer will be at the Forum with FATHOM. http://mathforum.org/workshops/toolfest05/fathom.html This is another opportunity to use the ConcertChat technology which was a real hit for the folks who used it on Monday. The activity is centered on a really interesting data set. Check it out.
** Don't forget Jeff's Question for today.
It should all be fun. -- cynthia
