Hello Everyone,
"Developing Adult Numeracy (DAN)" is a new professional development course for adult basic education / literacy and basic skills numeracy practitioners which will soon be nearing completion. It is being developed by the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada with funding from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, Skills Investment Branch and the National Literacy Secretariat of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.
This project is creating an online PD course for numeracy practitioners and we are looking for a panel of "Independent Reviewers" to examine the final product and provide feedback. Independent reviewers can be from any geographic location around the world and represent a range of roles (i.e. expert adult numeracy educators, expert adult educators, numeracy practitioners, etc.).
The course is expected to be ready for reviewing in late September or early October. Access to the course will be via a web site (http://www.lbspractitionertraining.com) and users will need Macromedia's Flash Player plug-in to run the course, and RealPlayer to watch a few linked rm audio and video files.
Anyone interested in volunteering to be a reviewer for this new course is asked to contact me as soon as possible, even though you won't be called upon to do the review for another 6 weeks or so.
Please feel free to share this invitation with colleagues who may also be interested.
I look forward to your participation! Thank you very much, Kim
