I have a group of third and fourth graders and I have used Investigations for eight years. Prior to this year, we separated students according to grades (3 or 4). This year, we have no shared time so I am teaching it all. I do have a group of students who I plan on giving the end of the unit assessment at the start of the unit because I believe that the content is easily accessible. I did this with the unit Landmarks in the 1000s and they all knew the content without a problem. So I went online and searched for content within the same topic but at a more advanced level.
I am about to start the unit on arrays and shares and plan on taking the same approach. I am wondering if anyone has content for me to use with this group that stays within the focus of the mathematical content but challenges the group?
Thanks.
