rigorous proof of 2pi*r and pi*r^2 for circles

Could anyone give me a complete and rigorous proof of the formulae for
the circumference(2pi*r) and area(pi*r^2) of a cirle of radius
r respectively ,or recommend any books on this?
I am looking for the kind of proof that any implicit use of the intended
formulae are forbidden.
