Need help with integer ?

A friend of mine who knows nothing of math asked me (I know only a little
of math) a puzzling question that I couldn't answer.

Is it possible that an integer exists between the integers one and two?
Is there a proof one way or the other. Or is the answer simply
undeterminable?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Shane
