Looking for method to estimate eigenvalue distribution

Hi,
I am looking for a algorithm to estimate the eigenvalue distribution of
a generalized eigenvalue problem
^ ^
[A]x = w[B]x
where [A] and [B] are complex. I wish to use the estimate to improve the
performance of a subspace iteration technique by solving for groupings of
the eigenvalues.
