help on gr12 discrete/geometry match question

can someone help me solve this:


u, v, w, a, and b are vectors.

u = xa + 2yb
v = -2ya + 2yb
w = 4a-2b

where a and b are not collinear vectors, find the values of x and y for which 2u - v = w
